Duke Energy announces construction of new solar power plant in Columbia county - WCJB

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB)-- Another new solar power plant is coming to North Central Florida, this time thanks to Duke Energy.

The company announced it will build a new solar power plant in Columbia county. Construction on the 600-acre plant is set to begin in March. Once completed, the 75-megawatt facility will have more than 200,000 solar panels.

Last month a similar-sized facility in Trenton was completed, and another in Columbia county will come online in April.
